DUMBO
I don’t like rankings because they’re necessarily subjective, but I have to admit: This is the best (smash) burger in the city. What’s more, they’re the ones who started the trend in Paris. Today, everyone wants to make smash burgers. Often copied, but never surpassed, their cheeseburger – with the patty smashed on the hot griddle, topped with slices of American cheese in a potato roll – is to die for. The place is minimalist – just a counter, a limited menu, but that’s all you need.

BRUT CLOTHING
Basically, this is my boyfriend’s favorite shop. He was the one who showed me this vintage shop. But each time we go there, I’m the one coming out loaded with shopping bags! Since I have a masculine-feminine wardrobe, I always find really beautiful pieces and good basics. And the quality is incredible. Quite a few of my favorite clothes come from here, like the varsity jacket I’m wearing now. In addition, they’re always really nice and give good advice. They even make their own creations out of old army fabric and have an online store with a small selection for women.

RACINES
This is by (very) far my favorite restaurant. A tiny spot squeezed into the Passage des Panoramas, near the Grands Boulevards. The chef Simone Tondo is a genius of Italian cuisine. What’s more, he got me to like vitello tonnato and it was no easy feat! I love everything about this place, Stéphanie and her staff’s warm welcome, the small dining room that makes it more intimate and the chef’s pasta. And let’s not forget the tiramisu, which is insanely delicious!

HOTEL GRAND AMOUR
For me, this is Paris right here. The Paris that wakes up with toast and a strong espresso (or genmaicha tea for me), the Paris that works remotely on a big table in the corner, the Paris that sits down for a croque-madame or the one that has drinks on the pink patio. Above all, it’s the nighttime Paris that parties in the Book Bar, a sort of speakeasy hidden in the back of a restaurant, or in one of the rooms that was magnificently decorated by Emmanuel, the proprietor and the artist André.

LE COLLIER DE LA REINE
This is a brand new spot from the Savoir-Vivre team (Déviant, Hôtel Bourbon) on rue Charlot in the Marais. It’s the kind of place I like because it’s multi-purpose. I can go there in the early evening to drink a cocktail at the bar before sitting down at a table to feast on a seafood platter. In the basement, there’s a magnificent wine cellar with a space for private dinners. Very few people know about this but the bar is open all afternoon for lunches that go on and on … And then the dining room is magnificent, it’s the architect duo Aus who orchestrated all this: a cross between Sex & The City and American diners with a touch of Parisian cool.
