This is Goldie, a multitalented artist and self-taught photographer. At just 28 years old, this native of Cergy, a suburb northwest of Paris, got started with photography at age 19 and is one of the most talented street style photographers of his generation

Behind his killer smile, his photos taken just after fashion shows or during his strolls through Paris evoke a melancholic poetry and surgical precision.

A sculptural detail, a pant hem that hits just right, a bracelet worn over a sleeve, or the facade of a rectilinear building. His sharp eye doesn’t miss a thing.

COULD YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF?

I’m Goldie and I’m a photographer.

Today I live in Paris’s 19th arrondissement but I come from a place called Magny-en-Vexin, a remote corner of the greater Paris region. I came to Paris ten years ago.

COULD YOU TELL US BRIEFLY ABOUT YOUR CAREER?

I started doing photography ten years ago. What inspired me were platforms like Tumblr, which I used quite a lot for my mood boards. In the beginning, I only did black and white photography and focused on the silhouettes of Greco-Roman statues. I try to free myself as much as I can from the rules of photography.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT PARIS ?

What I love above all is Paris’s cosmopolitan cultural richness.
