My name is Jasmine Barbarin, I’m 19 years old, I’m Franco-Moroccan, and I’m a model :)

私の名前はジャスミン・バルバリンです。19歳で、フランス・モロッコのハーフです。そしてモデルをしています :)
Could you tell us briefly about your career?
My career in fashion began in September 2020 when I signed with IMG models.
I was starting college at the same time, but when the opportunity to make my dreams come true presented itself, I decided to leave school in order to focus exclusively on modeling. I was lucky to start out with incredible experiences such as walking the runway for Louis Vuitton and shooting a campaign for ID France in the same week. After that, everything accelerated and I started working with Vogue Arabia and Vogue Russia, as well as brands such as Calvin Klein and Preen.
Traveling is one of the aspects of modeling I like best. It has allowed me to discover Italy, Germany, London, and, more recently, Copenhagen.
I also like to sew my own clothes that I wear in my Instagram posts. Sewing and fashion have always been my passions; incidentally, I started sewing when I was 10 years old.

私のファッションキャリアは2020年9月、IMG Modelsと契約したことから始まりました。
ちょうど大学へ進学するタイミングでしたが、夢を叶えるチャンスが巡ってきたと感じ、学業を離れてモデル活動に専念する決意をしました。
ルイ・ヴィトンのランウェイを歩き、ID Franceのキャンペーン撮影を同じ週に経験できたことは幸運でした。その後、すべてが加速し、『Vogue Arabia』や『Vogue Russia』、そしてCalvin KleinやPreenといったブランドとも仕事をするようになりました。
モデルの仕事で旅をすることが大好きです。これまでにイタリア、ドイツ、ロンドン、そして最近ではコペンハーゲンを訪れることができました。
また、Instagramに投稿するために自分で服を縫うことも楽しんでいます。裁縫とファッションは常に私の情熱であり、実は10歳のころに裁縫を始めました。
What do you like best about Paris?
I love the freedom and the cosmopolitan aspect of the city. As a transgender woman, here I feel far removed from everything I knew, and I was able to find myself. I came out in October 2020, when I was starting my career. Paris played a major role in my transition and my development as a woman and as a model.
The mix of different communities inspires me and helps me appreciate Paris’s beauty. The architecture and art on every street corner is one of the things I like best about Paris. For me, Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

自由で国際的な雰囲気が大好きです。トランスジェンダー女性として、ここにいると今までの世界から遠く離れ、自分自身を見つけることができました。私は2020年10月、モデル活動を始めた時期にカミングアウトしました。パリは、私のトランジションや女性としての成長、そしてモデルとしてのキャリアにおいて重要な役割を果たしました。
異なるコミュニティが混ざり合うことでインスピレーションを受け、パリの美しさをより深く感じることができます。建築や街角に溢れるアートは、私がパリを愛する理由のひとつです。私にとって、パリは世界で最も美しい都市のひとつです。
